The largest cultural and historic complex in the nation’s capital, Kalemegdan covers 66 hectares.

Its characteristics stem from the medieval heritage which is kept until today and because of it Kalemegdan is considered the most important heritage site.

Belgrade Fortress, which served as Belgrade’s primary military bastion, and Kalemedan Park, which was built as a platform for enemy force observation, are the two components of Kalemegdan, which is located at the confluence of two rivers.

The plateau from the 1880s was converted into a park, and ever since, Belgrade residents and numerous other tourists to our city have made it their favorite gathering place. On Kalemegdan, there are a lot of sites that must be seen.
